Over 150 attendees attended the Houghton Neighborhood Association Candidate Forum on Monday, October 13th.
We welcomed all 8 candidates vying for 4 seats on the Kirkland City Council to answer questions most relevant to residents of Houghton and South Kirkland. Topics ranged from the King County La Quinta facility, Houghton Village, Bus Lanes on 108th to which candidates would bring back a 4th of July fireworks show to the Kirkland Marina and more.
We’d like to thank and recognize our talented neighbor Carl Malone who filmed this event, our moderator, acclaimed radio and TV journalist Rick Van Cise, the entire HNA board who made this event happen, YOU our community members who took the time to bring questions and topics of importance to us for this forum and throughout the year and of course, the candidates, all of which are working hard to earn your votes.
We also want to thank Northwest University for kindly hosting this event.
Other Kirkland City Council Candidate Forums:
The purpose of candidate forums are to get to know candidates in a more personal way and to help educate voters by drawing distinctions between candidate views on relevant topics. Candidates are able to connect directly with attendees before and after.
